AnnaThanks for visiting my blog and getting to know me.  I love to write, but it’s not always easy when you’re writing about yourself so here goes. I’m a natural extrovert so it would make sense that I love where the world is today with social media and marketing.  I began in the days of old school marketing communications where PR was snail mail, face to face meetings were at tradeshows and marketing was not anywhere as easy to measure as it is today; so it was always a challenge proving the true effectiveness of marketing, since most of it was done off-line.

I’ve spent most of my career doing B2B integrated marketing communications for both large, well-established companies that existed back then (Allied Signal now Honeywell and Cookson) to start-ups.  I went through the dot com roller coaster in the 90’s having fun doing marketing at high tech start-up’s but also going through the collapse of some.

I progressed from entry level marketing assistant positions to management and director roles meeting wonderful mentors and learning a whole lot along the way.  I gained diverse, valuable knowledge of evolving marketing technologies that soon went on-line and became more and more measurable. I’ve always been fascinated with marketing communications and its impact on lead generation and brand awareness/retention for companies.  My diverse industry experience  includes high tech and pharma/biotech.  I’ve worked for B2B companies with amazing brands on their client lists including P&G, Eli Lilly, GE and Cadbury.

Currently I’m a Director, Marketing Strategy & Analytics for a print/media company that’s mixing traditional with new marketing, analytics and social media to help clients strengthen relationships with their customers and drive revenue.

Personally, I love all things technology, reading, blogging about various marketing topics and traveling with my family.  I appreciate wit and humor and think those are keys to life.  I enjoy all things nostalgic especially when it comes to brands, music and movies.  You’ll often find me reading ads and billboards like a game wondering what the point is, and it drives my family crazy. I’m also battling with being a long-time PC user and possibly converting to a Mac, which is like changing religions. I encourage creativity and thinking outside the box, and I think it’s resonating with my kids who are doing fascinating things with Play Doh these days.
