Focusing on customers

I continuously peruse the internet reading various blogs and resources on creative ways to market businesses. I see that everyone is doing similar things from creating blogs to email marketing to search engine optimization and PPC (pay per click) marketing to get people to their web sites and blogs. So you have to wonder, with everyone doing the same thing, how can a business stand out? What can it do differently that someone hasn’t already thought of or isn’t currently doing?

Keep in mind that although business are doing similar things to market themselves, no two businesses are exactly alike. If you are a small business owner, keep in mind that there is no other person out there like YOU. You are different and in turn that makes your business different. There are articles out there emphasizing brand YOU and that you make it unique and no one else has it.

Start using your talents, personality, motivation and energy to encourage others and communicate what makes you different from anyone or any other business out there because that is what people are truly interested in. What can you do that others can’t? What can your business do that other businesses can’t?

As soon as you start thinking about these differences, you can start writing about them in your blog incorporating your differences into your marketing content.

Having been in marketing for over 14 years, I know that the key thing is to set yourself apart from everyone else. That is what will attract others and entice them to do business with you.

What makes you or your business different than the others out there? Start communicating that today in all your marketing efforts and you will start to see more and more people become interested.

Emphasize the brand YOU today in yourself and your business!
